History
The Ahom kingdom was established in 1228 and lasted until 1826, expanding significantly under Suhungmung in the 16th century. It was known for its multi-ethnic character and resisted Mughal invasions in the 17th century. The kingdom faced internal conflicts and external invasions, leading to its eventual control by the East India Company after the Treaty of Yandabo in 1826.
