History
Ankuri Mahadev is a Hindu temple located in Mahadeva, Saptari District, Nepal. It is said that the Shiva Linga at the temple mysteriously returned to its original place whenever attempts were made to take it home. This led to the construction of a temple by the master of the cowherds who frequented the area, as it was believed that misfortune befell those who tried to remove the Shiva Linga.
