Arakeshvara Templa

The Arakeshvara Temple, dedicated to Shiva, is located in Hole Alur, Karnataka. Constructed by King Butuga II around 949 A.D., it commemorates his victory over the Cholas in the battle of Takkolam. The temple dates back to the 10th century and has undergone renovations in later periods. It is protected as a monument of national importance by the Archaeological Survey of India.
