Jal Mandir
The Jal Mandir, located in Pawapuri, Bihar, is dedicated to Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, marking the site of his cremation. Mahavira attained Nirvana in Pawapuri in 527 BC. The temple was originally built by King Nandivardhan, Mahavira's elder brother, within a pond filled with red lotus flowers. It is one of the five main temples in Pawapuri, where the 'Charan Paduka' or foot impression of Mahavira is deified.
