Karat Temple is one of the oldest temples in Wayanad district, dedicated to god Shiva. It was formed approximately one thousand years ago and was destroyed by Tipu Sultan in the 18th century. The temple was rebuilt through efforts led by Krishnan Nambeesan and the public of all religions.
