History
Shri Krishna Mandir is the first Hindu temple granted permission to be built in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 0.5 acres in the H-9 area. Intended to serve 3,000 local Hindu families, the project is managed by the Pakistan Hindu Panchayat. The construction has faced significant controversy, with approval challenged by Islamic extremists and the site subjected to four separate attacks and acts of vandalism. As of 2025, the construction of the temple has not yet started.
