History
Lakshmi Narayan Temple, popularly known as Birla Mandir in Bhopal, is situated in the Malviya Nagar area of Bhopal, south of the lake near the Arera Hills. A museum built adjacent to the temple houses stone idols brought from places across Madhya Pradesh, including Raisen, Sehore, Mandsaur and Shahdol. Stone idols of Shiva, Vishnu and other incarnations are displayed in the museum. The museum is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm except Mondays.
