History
Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Temple, Samayapuram is an ancient Hindu temple located in the Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu, India. The main deity, Samayapuram Mariamman, is a form of Adi Parashakti and Mariamman. The idol is unique as it is crafted from sand and clay mixed with medicinal herbs, rather than the traditional stone used in most Hindu temples. Due to the delicate nature of the main deity, abhishekams are performed on a small stone statue placed in front of it instead of the main idol.
