Old TEMPLE
The Old Temple of Athena, built in the second half of the sixth-century BCE, was an archaic Greek Doric temple on the Acropolis of Athens. It housed the xoanon of Athena Polias. Its existence was confirmed by the discovery of building foundations in 1886. The temple was burnt down during the Persian invasion of 480 BC, but details about its name, nature, and reconstruction remain unresolved.
