Rameshworam Mandir
Rameshwaram is a sacred pilgrimage site located in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the four Char Dhams of Hinduism and houses one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Historically, the island was connected to the Indian mainland before being separated by sea waves. According to legend, Lord Rama constructed a stone bridge (setu) here to reach Lanka for battle, which he later destroyed at the request of Vibhishana at Dhanushkodi. Remnants of this 30-mile long bridge are still visible in the sea.
