History
Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi temple is one of the most renowned Hindu temples in Kerala, located in the Alapp at Chettikulangara in Alapp in Alappuzha district. The main deity is Sree Bhadrakali, an incarnation of the supreme mother Shakthi devi. According to tradition, she was born from the third eye of Lord Shiva to kill the demon king Daruka. The temple is situated in Chettikulangara, approximately 4 kilometres west of Mavelikkara and 7 kilometres north of Kayamkulam on SH6.

Bhadrakali is worshipped for prosperity and salvation. Devi is considered as the creator, protector, destructor, nature, power and Kundalini Shakthi.
