Somnath Temple in Veraval, Gujarat is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (Somnath).

सोमनाथ

One of the most sacred Shiva temples, destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout history. The current temple was reconstructed after Indian independence under the initiative of Sardar Patel. It is the first among the twelve Jyotirlingas and holds immense religious significance. Legend says the Moon God built the original temple in gold after being cursed by Daksha.
