History
Subashi Temple is a ruined Buddhist temple located near the city of Kucha (Kuqa) in the Taklamakan Desert of Xinjiang in western China, at approximately 41.85580556°N, 83.04702778°E. Situated on the ancient Silk Road, the site reflects the historical Buddhist presence along that trade corridor. The settlement and temple complex were partly excavated by the Japanese archaeologist Count Otani. The site is recorded as a nationally protected historic site.
