History
Thanthania Kalibari was built by Shankar Ghosh and is considered one of the oldest Hindu sacred sites in Kolkata. The presiding deity is crafted from clay and is replaced annually, with the old idol being submerged.

It is a highly popular pilgrimage site where Tuesday and Saturday are considered particularly auspicious for visiting the temple.
