Tirumaanturai

Maanturai Amravaneswarar Temple is dedicated to Shiva and is located in Manturai, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, revered by Nayanars Appar and Tirugnana Sambandar in the 7th-8th century. The temple was expanded by Chola kings in the 11th century and features a three-tiered gateway tower and a tank. The name Manthurai comes from a legend where Shiva bestowed a deer with a mango.
