The navagraha are the nine grahas of Vedic astrology: the Sun and Moon (the luminaries), the five star-planets Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn, and the two lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu.
Seven of the grahas rule the 12 rashis (the Sun and Moon rule one sign each; the other five rule two). Rahu and Ketu are shadow grahas and own no sign in the classical scheme.
